When I started my business as a Holistic Intuitive Development Mentor, I discovered that many of the people I attracted were desperate to “unplug” – but didn’t know what to do after unplugging. The reason for this from my perspective, is that we have been trained, since birth, to “follow the rules”. As a result, the spiritual path can feeling lonely and directionless.
Oddly – I’ve watched many people leave one church or spiritual leader just to follow another.
Transferring your faith to someone who encourages a co-dependent relationship, creates a dysfunctional dynamic and you end up back where you started.
The purpose of a spiritual mentor is to help bridge the gap in a spiritual awakening. Unfortunately, many well-meaning mentors, teachers, healers, gurus, channelers, healers, shamans, etc, become an obstacle on that very bridge.
A Great Mentor will support your Spiritual Awakening so that you:
- Acknowledge your worth.
- Own your power.
- Create your personal connection to Source.
- Find your Light Family.
We are all equally worthy. When a guru, spiritual teacher, religious leader, healer, psychic, tradition, religion, etc. expects you to “do as they say” – especially when it does NOT resonate with you – they are invested in keeping you asleep.
Whether they are ignorant or malevolent – a leader who wants you to believe that you are “less worthy”, and that you can’t possibly speak to Ascended Masters or The Divine, Know this: Either way, they are blocking your awakening. Your opportunity is to establish trust in your inner guidance .
Sometimes, when it comes to prayer, blessings, healing, and spiritual guidance, it feels safer to depend on someone else rather than trust ourselves. Note: When you believe that someone (or even something) has power over you, you’re disempowered.
I was chatting with one of my clients the other day…. a very powerful healer with a very specific gift. She shared that her healer recently told her that she “had no business working on clients until she resolved her own issues.”
So – I asked my client “Did that resonate with you?”
Her response?
“It resonated with my fears.”
(BINGO!)
>From my perspective, to awaken and live from an awakened state, you must be autonomous and self-empowered. I lead and guide those in my Sacred Journey Mastery Program to be responsible for their power, life and choices. As a guide, I bring you to the door to show you the tools. I teach techniques that show you how powerful you are. I invite you to walk through the door, by suggesting you “feel into” whatever I am offering you determine “fit” or “resonance”.
Am I saying don’t have a teacher or mentor?
Nope!
You can have a relationship with a mentor without giving your power away. Personally, I find that a healthy exchange of wisdom and empowering supportive guidance will support an awakening exponentially.
Any good teacher will direct you inward toward your own power and worth.
A GREAT teacher will meet you eye to eye, heart to heart, and spirit to spirit. We know we are your equal (no matter where you are on your path. We have all started somewhere.)
Finally, being amongst like-minds – (or “light minds”) those who share your desire to spiritually expand – restores your healthy commitment to YOU.
