In the metaphysical community there is often a lot of talk about being “right brained” or “left brained”, or more “intuitive” than “analytical”, as if one is better than the other.
What if I told you that your 5 senses can often lead you to discover intuitive information?
For many of us, it happens all the time, but we don’t notice it.
There is a lesson I’ll cover in 12 Steps to Tarot Mastery, that invites participants to feel, hear, and smell their tarot decks.
What we are really doing though, is practicing the art of synesthesia…which some people have naturally – while most of us don’t.
What the heck is Synesthesia?
The word synesthesia comes from the Greek syn for “together” and the root aisthe for “to feel.”
Synesthesia is when a sense, such as sight, triggers another sense, like smell, at the same time, which boils down to a blend of the senses.
Many people naturally have synesthesia, thinking that everyone sees the number 7 as green, or smells colors, or even sees shapes as numbers (the latter is me <3)
This ability developed for me over time, and I discovered it to be a valuable tool for intuitives.
Here is an exercise you can try to see how easy this skill is to develop:
1. Think of a very happy moment…one of the happiest moments in your life. Got it? Next – get a sense of the flavor or taste of happiness in your mouth.
2. Now, think of a time when you were really sad. Then get a sense of what that sadness tastes like.
3. Now, think of the last time you were really angry…what does that taste like?
Congratulations! You just had a “taste” of synesthesia!
In 12 Steps to Tarot Mastery, participants will learn how to sense their cards in a very unique way, to provide more clarity (and impact) in their readings.
