In my Intuitive Development or Soul Enrichment programs, I teach something called the “zip-up”. I actually learned it from reading Donna Eden books initially, then learned how it related to Eastern Medicine.
The “Zip-up” is a process where you take one hand, hold it an few inches away from you (palm facing you), and glide it up the front of your body from top of pubic bone to top of chin. This is your governing meridian – which feeds life force to your chakras. “Zipping up” allows you to avoid taking in energy from your environment.
You can also “Un-Zip” if you feel like you have taken on energy you don’t want.
Anyhoo, one day while sitting on the toilet, my dog, Juno, walked up to me for a pet. (Dogs know they can get a good pet when your sitting there – cuz you may be there for a while…)
As I was petting her, I realized that I was “unzipping her”. Naturally, that is what petting does.
And then I had the “A-Ha!” – She was letting me unzip her. She wanted to take in my energy. (Whoa!)
Then I thought of my dearly departed Beau, my Italian Greyhound – who died with a cancerous lump on his chest – next to his heart chakra – exactly where my healing opportunity was.
Our pets are so much more than furry, family friends. They are our Teachers, our Healers – and an aspect of Ourselves.
So – today is Be Kind to Your Pet Day. I know we all love our pets…today do something special for yours. (And if you don’t have one – you may want to adopt…just sayin!”)
