A little “fast magick” tip here…
Traditionally, the “12 days of Christmas” begins immediately after Christmas day.
This is believed to be a great liminal time… a time of great power.
This window is a perfect time for shadow work, spiritual communication, divination, and all Magick.
The days corresponding to the 12 days of Christmas are also known as The Omen Days because during those 12 days, they provide omens for each month in the new year. Each day, 1 through 12, corresponds to the month of the same number. During this time, pay special attention to your surroundings and the unique things that happen. Simply put, notice what you notice because how your day goes will be how your month goes.
For this reason, it’s a great time to spend outdoors so that you can step out of your everyday box, and omens can easily come to you via appearances of animals, sun, wind, or any form of precipitation.
If you are not a “Green Witch,” – don’t despair!
You can also seek omens by divination. Using tarot or oracle cards, for example, on each of the 12 days, can provide news for the specific month represented by the day. Today specifically represents the 8th month (August), so drawing a card today or spending time in nature – will tell you how your August will go.
Please Note: If you missed the last seven days, feel free to draw a card to represent each of the previous months!
And – on the off chance you still have a hangover from New Year’s celebrations, petition Saint Bibiana – the Saint for hangovers and headaches!
Simply promise to light a white candle on December 2nd (her feast day) to gain her support.
