While reading a new client, Rashad, he admitted having no expectations. His very first tarot reading, over 10 years ago, was, in his words “generic”. (No, I did not give him THAT reading!)
But I totally knew what he was talking about.
Last year, I had a “year ahead” reading from a Tarot Scholar who happened to be a teacher I studied with. It was my first reading with him, and I was super excited after having learned so much about the history of tarot in his classes.
Much to my disappointment, I may as well have read my horoscope. The reading was …”elementary”….It didn’t have an ounce of specifics.
Reflecting on mine and Rashad’s experience, I was reminded of the quote often applied to acting coaches: “Those who can’t act, teach.”
Or, in this case “those who can’t read tarot, teach tarot history.”
Well – that may be true for him (after all, Tarot Scholar means he studies tarot…which, not for nothin’, is a life-long study), but as a Master Tarologist I give readings that support my clients with accuracy, specifics, options, homework and other useful information.
And, as a tarot-teacher, my students are quickly able to do the same, providing readings with as much accuracy as I do. (In fact, I recall several “balls-on accurate” readings provided by tarot-novice-students that were so amazing I remain blown away to this day.)
