Last week at SHIFT Charlotte, I met two amazing survivors of stage 3 cancer. Each shared their story with me and I was so impressed with their dedication to healing – skipping the “tried and true” therapies (radiation, chemotherapy & drugs).
Each of them used energy work, diet and exercise to heal.
Years ago while going through a cancer experience, I was so scared that I did almost everything the doctors told me (surgery & radiation), included energy work, continued to exercise, tweaked my diet but skipped the suggested Tamoxiphen.
I was so inspired by these two women. I wanted to share their story.
Well, within 48 hours, a very close friend, whose been dancing with the traditional therapies suggested for cancer treatments all year, had a major reaction and ended up in ICU with internal bleeding. As I write this, he hangs by a thread (& I am packing my bags to pay him a visit.)
While packing, I reflected on an experience I had last year. I went to a general practitioner for my annual exam, and left with 5 doctor appointments. Yes 5.
It was her professional opinion (not based on anything other than my history and age) that I get a mammogram, see an oncologist, get a colonoscopy, go back to see her and another appointment (which I don’t recall) because I canceled all of them.
Cancer treatments are such big business, that as soon as you are diagnosed, you are “labeled” in the system not just for potential therapies, but to feed the system with your valuable dollars.
My reasoning is simple: Should a doctor “find something”, I wouldn’t do what they suggest anyway, so why bother getting caught up in the system?
Denial?
Maybe.
Maybe not.
See – often the dead are given autopsies and cancer is found, but they didn’t die of cancer or any cancer related treatments. They died while living their life.
I don’t join cancer survivor clubs, or participate in any cancer walks or cancer anything, because I’ve completely unsubscribed from it.
Believe it or not, that’s a choice we all have.
