I am finding a huge divide among people in the spiritual community these days. Some believe “Everything happens for a reason” and some believe “I am the reason why everything happens.”
I am somewhere in the middle. Wanna know why?
Basic religion indicates the “will of God” is always done. The big picture view is what “the man in the sky” has, which in time, will provide perspective to the shittiest of your life’s events.
What makes Earth Based Traditions unique is that we ask for specific things to occur…allowing ourselves to be in the driver’s seat, not the back of the bus.
Because of this, intentional statements are crucial because it is the foundational energy that drives our rituals.
If you ever said a prayer to God for a pregnancy test not to be positive, or indicated that you’ll “never drink again” if you were allowed to survive your over indulgence – you know what an intentional statement is.
But Magick is not plea bargaining with the Divine. If you ever asked your kid to clean up his room – which resulted in all his dirty clothes in one huge pile instead of ten little piles, you know that being clear with your intention statement is a must to get what you want.
Back in the day I was famous for doing love rituals, and ended up attracting every Tom, Dick and Harry in the hood. One even liked to wear lipstick. (Yechh. Not for nothin’, but if I want someone who wears lipstick, they’re names would NOT be Tom, Dick or Harry.)
I eventually learned that there are 3 types on Intentional Statements. Be careful of the one you choose to create:
- The Basic: Bring financial increase! Result: $20 found in your old jacket. (The funny thing here? Those who make nebulous requests like this would not even notice that the $20 was the answer to their own request!)
- Mediocre: Bring increased income. Result: You get a $1500 per year increase. Sounds good, until you do the math and see that it only resulted in under $30 a week, and you’ll still have to cut corners to make ends meet.
- Advanced: Bring a new job I love, with opportunities to advance personally and professionally, making “X” per year, and resulting in “X” in disposable income. Result: Your dream career, where you feel like you’re getting paid to show up; you’re making more money then you ever made before, (because you were so specific) and you already see how you can take this business to the next level. The best part? The company is willing to pay for your training to learn new skills that will support you personally as well as serve the job.
When you create advanced intentional statements, you get advanced results!
Your intentional statement is just the foundation of your rituals.
The more aligned your words are with your deeds, and the clearer you are in expressing our desires; the more powerful your “wish to reality rituals” will be.
