Since opening Curio, Craft & Conjure, I must admit to a renewed relationship with crystals.
My love affair started in my teens, and you would be able to tell by just looking around my home that I am a “crystal hooker” – no loyalty to any particular one. I have even slept with certain crystals when moving through a healing phase – which brings me to the topic of Crystal Healing.
I have noticed many books and (expensive) programs that offer tests that determine chakra strengths and imbalances, in an effort to suggest certain crystals to support “balancing your chakras”.
Based on my chakra studies, I think there is something we need to include in a “healing protocol” that is rarely if ever taken into consideration.
See – in my observation, if we had all balanced chakras we would be Stepford wives.
Here is what I know: We are all born with our own super powers via our strongest chakras and energy fields. We naturally refer to these stronger chakras when we manifest.
We “manifest” everything. Money. Lovers. Homes. Assholes. Illness. Everything.
So, it stands to reason that our strongest chakras and the auric fields they govern are often compromised from over use and could probably use a tune up from time-to-time.
As a healer, I would NOT spend energy on someone’s weaker, non-super power chakras, when I clearly want to focus my attention on giving her back her Super Powers!
Shamanic teachings often speak to working with the lowest compromised chakra (check out the book Shaman, Healer, Sage by Antonio Villoldo for more on this). The reasoning here is that, starting at this point will create the movement needed to feed earth energy to the higher chakras.
