As an avid student and teacher of energy in all of its forms, I have stumbled upon a few very cool energy tips to keep you balanced with the energies of the planet.
The first is one something that is completely new to me, but has been working wonders.
- When you wake up in the morning, before leaving your bed, determine which nostril you are breathing through. (Simply hold down your right nostril, breathing in your left, then your left nostril breathing in your right. You will find air flows through one with more ease, than the other.)
After you determine which nostril you are breathing from, place both feet on the floor, and then take your first step of the day with the foot on the same side of the breathing nostril.
You will find that this aligns you with the planetary energies of the day, so you can move through your day with ease and grace.
Another tip to try also involves breath.
I took a Pranayama workshop last Spring and learned this ancient technique for getting back to center and staying present. This breath exercise allows you to clear your mind.
- Simply hold your right nostril down with your thumb, and breathe in through your left nostril, then exhale through the left nostril. Next hold down your left nostril with your ring finger and breathe in your right nostril, and exhale through your right. Continue to do this alternate breath exercise for 9 breaths.
The final exercise is with sound.
Sounds “do things”. You may have heard, chanting OM is grounding. Well here is one you may not have heard: This sound removes obstacles.
- The sound is like saying “GUM” without putting your lips down for the “M” sound. (I like to do this in the middle of my day).
