As the political climate continues to intensify, we are discovering new clients at Curio Craft and Conjure who are either discovering (or turning back to) ritual in an effort to move through their lives with intention, purpose, and inner peace.
We are all witness to those who cling to the dogma of separation/organized religion/ politics – which inspires us are to be empowered through reconnection (or discovery) of the power within ourselves.
For many it is a challenge.
I helped a client who recently came in looking for help in attracting love into her life. This resulted in her purchase of a Love Magnet Mojo. On her way out saw an article pinned to our community board titled “Gina The Good Witch”, (with my image) and she declared aloud “Oh – I’m not about THAT. That’s the devil’s work.”
See – the word “witch” terrified her. (Meanwhile, she was definitely doing some witchy shit!)
In the book Bewitching the Elements, author Gabriela Herstick comments on how we feel about aspects of ourselves: “Nature has the potential to cultivate and propagate as much as cleanse and kill. But to call nature “evil”, or “negative” or “harmful” is dismissive of all her facets. When you see your multidimensional self with compassion and love and not with anger or judgment, you can work with the scarier, harder to accept aspects of yourself as guides for growth and cultivating an open heart, a compassionate spirit, and resilience.”
I love how the author likens each of us to nature – it’s the perfect metaphor. Within each of us is incredible power.
Culturally and globally – the “system” has attempted to intentionally strip women, men and people of color from power. When we honor our natural gifts and honor all life – (from nature, animals, elements, crystals, and people) – we embrace our power.
“Witch” is a word that more people are getting comfortable with, while many – who are undeniably talented, remain uncomfortable with. I embraced the word when I opened Curio, Craft & Conjure. While I hadn’t called myself a witch prior to that, I knew others did behind my back!
For many, the word “witch” is a fad. For others, like me – a declaration of power and strength.
While on your witch-journey, you will discover the many ways you can reclaim your power and practice your witchery. Between Wiccan, Pagan, Lukumi, HooDoo and other traditions – it is easy to get confused.
At Curio, Craft & Conjure we honor magickal traditions from around the world. I am partial to Hoodoo – but would “label” myself as an Intuition Witch. As an Intuition Witch, I honor my guidance above all resources.
I am currently in the process of creating a course that will explore the many ways you can naturally practice your own brand of effective witchery – without the confines of dogma.
You see, an Intuition Witch follows no *man. She discovers and embraces her personalized practices with guidance but without the need for rules.
I’ll reveal many “witch basics” in this course, with advanced practices too. You will discover how to personalize these suggestions and create your own practical path.
There are too many people who want to tell us how to “be a witch” – but when we look at the diversity among us – there is no one “right way” – and that’s ok!
This new course will be part of The Oracle Academy. If you are already part of it, you will have access to this course at no extra cost!
If you are not part of The Oracle Academy, I am reopening the application process for Tuition Assistance for The Oracle Academy in anticipation of the post-election shit-show many are already predicting.
Harnessing your personal power is probably the most important thing you can do for yourself and those around you now.
I’ll be sharing more about my new Intuition Witch course in upcoming newsletters.
