Years ago I kept a “vent journal”.
At that time I was also traveling a lot for work. At some point I realized that if (God forbid) anything happen to me while I was on the road, the journals discovered (and read by my daughter and husband) would be filled with my misery – not the inheritance I want to leave – so I stopped writing.
Now that I’ve taken up journaling again, I’ve noticed an interesting habit: My deepest, darkest secrets are the ones I don’t acknowledge in my journals.
Those pieces are left unspoken and unwritten. They will not be here when I am gone.
What WILL be here when I am gone are the people I have helped and my contribution to the world.
As I am preparing for the Enlightened Business & Marketing Social & Retreat, I reflect on questions I asked myself that inspired me.
I pose these same burning questions to you:
Why do what you do?
Why do you study, learn and have the spiritual practices you have?
What is driving you?
Those of us who’ve embraced spiritual practices… us Intuitives, Healers and Artists – should take the opportunity to reflect on our individual roles on this planet at this time.
You have “Stepped In” to your role. Are you now ready to “Step it Up”?
What stops you from taking your work to the next level of Service, Greatness and Power?
About 7 years ago, when I asked myself this question, my top 3 answers were:
1. Judgement: I was afraid of judgement from my peers. I was charging what everyone else was charging for their services, but I was clearly head & shoulders above many people in key areas based on education, experience and results – to charge a premium. (not ALL areas, mind you – and we’ll talk about too…read on)
2. Scarcity: I thought I had to be all things to all people. The Space Clearer. The Medium. (The Butcher. The Baker.) But the truth is that being clearer within myself about my role in the world made it easier for my clients to find me. Now, those in my community benefit from referrals when I am NOT the best person for the job.
3. Fear: I was afraid I would lose clients if I raised prices. And I did, but I gained more ideal clients, more respect and more time for myself.
“Whatever we resist, persists” – meaning our issues don’t go away when we turn a blind eye toward to them.
“Every flower has to grow through dirt” – Meaning YOU are the flower. Give yourself permission to Bloom.
The Enlightened Business Marketing Retreat is coming around the corner…are YOU ready to step up?
