Looking at these words clumped together may leave some of us feeling uneasy, & others squealing with delight (I am the latter, in case you haven’t guessed).
In January 2016 I posted something on Facebook about a bird flying into my house. I asked the group what they thought it meant.
Several folks chimed in. I had all kinds of answers… Some said “news”, my sister said “death”, other’s asked questions like “what kind of bird?”
Personally?
I intuited “a new man in my life”.
THEN someone – an old friend – (who doesn’t know me NOW), offered “sometimes a cigar is just a cigar….”
(Yeah….NO.)
At THAT, I imagined a slow motion movie ….being at a party surrounded by “my peeps” (witches, shamans, healers, psychics, & animal communicators)….music in the background …glasses clinking… everyone chiming in with their input.
And upon hearing THAT everyone stops & stares….<3
See…..In my world everything has a meaning….
So – let me just cut to the chase: My sister & I were both right.
My sister predicted death. My daughter’s father died in March.
I predicted “a new man” in my life. The new “man” in my life was my new “sun” – the 12 year old half-brother her father was raising alone.
Now, some would say there is a common superstition around birds flying in the home meaning “death”.
And I’ll give you that.
But you may also be asking yourself how the heck did she determine “a new man” was coming into her life?.
Here’s the thing: Tarot is rich with symbolism.
The way I teach tarot – I refer to “Personal Symbolism”. I allow what I know to provide intuitive insight & information. Tarot is LIFE.
(Ok – My Life)
So, here is how I got to my insight:
- The bird flew in my back door (which faces east – the direction of the rising sun & “new”
- It ended up flying upstairs – to my bedroom. (how is THAT for personal?)
- The bird went under my bed, on the right side – closest to the door (the “male” side)
- The bird also flew into my master bathroom, where I have double sinks. It was looking at itself in the mirror – on the side I don’t use – (but my ex-husband DID)
Here is how reading signs can work for you:
Step 1: Notice what you notice. (For example, a bird flew into my house…NOT common!!)
Step 2: Notice the environment. (My house/my bedroom)
Step 3: Notice the number. (1 bird) – The number for new beginnings)
Step 4: Notice the direction (if applicable). For example – the bird flew in the door that faces east…the direction of “new”
Like numbers, each direction has different meanings based on schools of thought.
My school of thought follows earth-based religions. (Whichever school of thought you go by is fine…intuition uses what you KNOW. There is no “right or wrong”.)
Direction designations based on earth based religions:
West: The element of Water intuition, healing & feeling. Also Sunsets.
South: The element of Fire, spirit, inspiration & action.
North: The element of Air, information, ideas, & thoughts.
East: The element of Earth, health, prosperity, education. Also Sunrises.
In short, give yourself permission to “read” the signs.
