I was reminded of the 4 stages of personal power while looking in the mirror last week.
I look completely different than I did when I first moved to Charlotte. Often drastic outward physical changes mark something happening (spiritually) within.
In the book “The Anatomy of Spirit” these stages are referred to as “mini-initiations”.
They include:
Stage 1. Revolution: Establishing your own sense of authority – separating from group thought. (This “group thought” can be family, religion, any group dynamic where an “aspect of you” steps away from “popular opinion”.)
Stage 2: Involution: Here we focus on our relationship with God and our life purpose. Self-knowing promotes choice and action.
Stage 3: Reinvention: Giving ourselves a new image. How we dress, cutting hair, losing weight – whatever we decide. We can get critical reactions from our tribe. Which prepare us for more significant internal changes to follow.
Stage 4: Evolution: Keeping your principals, dignity and faith without compromising any energy from your spirit.
What stage are you in?
I find that many people are stuck at number Stage 1 – and I get it. I was at Stage 1 until I was 46. Some people never move past it.
I believe we’re all given, what I call “decision diamonds” – usually wrapped up in an uncomfortable growth opportunity. (It may be the death of a loved one, financial, work, health or relationship issues – whatever it is, it is something close to “home”)
It is also our invitation to grow and expand.
When we accept “the invitation” we move through the discomfort of change, and growth and expanded awareness and gifts are the result.

When we pass on “the invitation” choosing “the devil we know”…and staying in a bad situation, we do so because we are paralyzed by fear and lack of trust.
The fear of change.
And the lack of trust in ourselves.
The lack of trust in the Universe.
